St Peter's
Welcome to the webpage for St Peter's Church Centre - our community church and hall centre in the Primrose area of the town.
St Peter's, looking from the corner of York Avenue and Penshaw View St Peter's Church was built in 1970. The modern centre includes a hall, community room, parish office and vestries as well as the worship area.
inside the church - where we worship together The centre is used almost constantly by a variety of community and church groups. Activities currently on offer include study groups, a dancing school, gentle aerobics (aimed at our more senior residents), a Gospel choir, a pipe band, a parent and toddler group, brownies, flower club, sequence dancing, slimming club, support groups, and others.

Enquiries about baptisms, weddings, etc should be made through the parish office. Initial information and advice can be obtained by attending one of our regular services (see calendar page) and speaking to the clergy.
The office is open between 10am and 12.30pm from Monday - Thursday, and also from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on a Thursday evening.
