The Parish of Jarrow is a Team Ministry covering most of the town of Jarrow, on South Tyneside in the North-East of England.
The Parish is part of the Deanery of Jarrow, within the Archdeaconry of Sunderland - the northern part of the Diocese of Durham, a diocese of the Church of England.
The parish comprises three churches: St Peter's, St John the Baptist, and St Paul's - which was home to the Venerable Bede and formed one half of the twin monastery of Wearmouth-Jarrow. You can find out more about the monastery and its bid for World Heritage Site status by visiting www.wearmouth-jarrow.org.uk or viewing the St Paul's page on this site. We are also linked with the Parish of Simonside, which adjoins the Team Parish, and our clergy also care for the community there.
For information about our parish, its people, activities and buildings, please follow the links on the left. The weekly notice-sheet is available as a PDF from the Forthcoming Events page.
If you would like any further information, or have suggestions about how we could improve our site, please email us at office@jarrowparish.info
